A demisexual is a flavor of sexuality. They aren’t willing to have sex until an emotional attachement is formed. It’s said to be in the middle of sexual and asexual, much like genderqueer is in the middle of masculine and feminine.
That’s not exactly unusual…many if not most people don’t have/like to have sex unless they have an emotional attachment with that...
