Happy Valanniversatine’s Day!

My girlfriend, Tabia, and I have been together for five years now. Our anniversary just happens to fall on Valentine’s Day, so it’s easy to remember and it’s kind of like everyone is celebrating with us.

Eight months after we first got together, Tabia moved across the country, where she has stayed ever since. We’ve spent under two months, total, in each other’s physical company in the past four years, which makes it very difficult. But we’re still kicking.

Tabia has a website, where she posts silly comics that you guys should all check out. My present to her this year was a t-shirt with her website’s banner picture on it. Her present to me was the cutest owl-cookie-bouquet you ever did see. My roommates and I stood around it and squealed about what a great girlfriend I have because it’s so adorable. And on an unusual note, our presents arrived on the same day, which I don’t think has ever happened before. We exchanged presents yesterday.

Today, on our actual anniversary, we have a Skype date planned. I think the itinerary is to eat Nutella (possibly on something) and watch Itty Bitty Titty Committee, though that might change. Suggestions?

Bit of phone conversation with girlfriend I haven't seen in-person in over a year:

  • Girlfriend: I'll see you tomorrow.
  • Me: I'll see you tomorrow.

My girlfriend is coming to visit next month!

Haven’t seen each other in over a year now. We’ve been dating for four years. She lives in California, I live in Kentucky, and some of my friends are starting to think she doesn’t exist.

Probably going to have a little party so she can meet some of my people (and for my birthday, which is the day after she’ll be arriving). The question is: what should be the party’s theme? Not board games or anything focusing on alcohol - she doesn’t particularly care for board games and we are both wanting to be healthier/veganish and I thought this visit would be good for practicing for that. So, also, cheese wouldn’t be a good theme either. And we’d like for the party to involve pie, but that doesn’t have to be part of the theme.

Go, Tumblr, go! Suggestions?

Celebrating our four-year anniversary with a webcam dinner date.

Love.

How should I tell my mom that I might want to move 35 hours* away?

*by car.

Where to live with my girlfriend in the future?

We’re looking for a place….

Not huge—preferably under 100k people (significantly, if possible).
Liberal, preferably a university town.
Plenty of things to do and veg*n restaurants.
Not terribly cold (for her) and not freakishly hot (for me).
Plenty of racial/ethnic diversity.

Not in Kentucky or California. Preferably somewhere in the middle, but that isn’t necessary. Somewhere in the USA.

Okay, Tumblr, GO!

I do this all the time.  “Let’s go to the kitchen,” or “I’m taking you upstairs.”
